Message Board Designs is a Northern Virginia-based company that specializes in designing graphics for electronic message boards for sports and non-sports clients.

History

Message Board Designs owner Jarrod Wronski has been designing message board graphics since 1998 when working with a Fair-Play, three-line monochrome board for the St. Petersburg Devil Rays.  Given carte blanche, he experimented with the board and found he was able to design graphics for sponsors and keep updated information on the board.

As his time in baseball continued, it wasn't until 2003 when Wronski was working with the Carolina Mudcats that he began designing backgrounds and slides for the team's video board.  In 2004, he took over design work for the Potomac Cannons where he redesigned all text slides and began working more with creating custom designs for the team's sponsors.  One day, late in the season, AOL showed up and asked to have their logo placed on the message board.  After 10 minutes with the logo on a business card, Wronski designed the graphic, pixel-by-pixel on the message board, along with text and other information AOL wanted that night.  That same season, Wronski introduced live video to the message board, a feature the team did not know they had available to them.  To this day, the team still uses graphics that Wronski created for them.

In the fall of 2004, a local high school who was the first school in Northern Virginia to purchase an electronic message board contacted Wronski about designing graphics for their board.  Whey they saw player names and info, the school was very pleased.  The next season, every player had their picture on the board and custom "shows" were created and played along with music over the PA system to give the board a video feel to it, though it does not have that ability.

Since that time, graphics have been designed for sports and non-sports events at that school and several others along with American University.
